WHAT THEY SAY

On the rare occasions a set design is nominated for an award I find that it's the agency art directors who sometimes snap them up claiming the same job title as ours. Also, awards are often given for the most unexpected of jobs.

Many of my jobs have won awards though, the most recent being a BBC Dunkirk programme promotion with Andrea Kapos directing where we created new footage to be inserted into the already shot film, this even confused the actual programme makers. Another recent one was Campaign magazines "Lemon", worst weekly commercial for Knorr Chicken Tonight with that panda.

However, accidentally hearing complimentary comments about the set are usually enough to satisfy any designer and I'm no exception there, I also maintain that one of the best accolades must be repeated bookings from regular clients.
