- Stating the obvious, you do need experience. I don't have time to train and work simultaneously.

- I shouldn't have to ask you to bring waterproofs.

- A well equipped toolbox is always a plus as you can quite often be working remotely and without others to assist. Though people usually allow you to borrow it's not good practice as this is how tools get lost. A good knife (preferably Leatherman or similar) is pretty essential together with tape, screwdivers, hammer and nails, You can never have enough.

- A Telephone is essential, but that's not for social calls, and make sure it's on mute whilst filming.

- Gloves can be handy, especially for the wrap.

- A car, or even small van, gives your employment chances a head start.

- A camera can be handy for continuity dressing, and holiday snaps.
