Always get stage plans prior to your build. The will show doors, access and heights. I tend to redraw these showing the proposed set position on stage and send it to the cameraman and clients. If the set then needs to be moved, at least it wasn't your fault. I always find that no matter how big the stage is, there is never enough room.
